Justice Newman began her distinguished career in public service as the first female Assistant District Attorney in Montgomery County. Following her trailblazing work as a prosecutor, she entered private practice, where she built a highly respected career of two decades. In 1993, she was elected to the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania, serving with distinction until January 1996 when she became the first woman ever elected to serve as justice on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. In recognition of her decades of service, her historic contributions to judiciary, and her enduring commitment to justice, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court proudly dedicated a courtroom in honor of Justice Sandra Schultz Newman.
It was such an honor for Franklin Bronze Plaques to be part of this wonderful recognition for Justice Newman.
