In 1924, a plaque honoring Francis Daniel Pastorius, the founder of Germantown, was placed on South Front Street near the Delaware River. However, over the years, this historic marker mysteriously disappeared, leaving its whereabouts unknown.
Local resident Jim Logue, upon discovering that Pastorius had once lived in his home, took it upon himself to restore this piece of history.

When the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission declined to replace the plaque, Jim decided to take matters into his own hands. He collaborated with Franklin Bronze Plaques, a company based in Franklin, Pennsylvania, to recreate the original marker with its exact wording.

With the help of his daughter, Briana, Jim worked closely with the company over the course of four months to ensure the plaque’s accuracy to the original. Thanks to their efforts, the memory of Francis Daniel Pastorius now once again has a place of honor.
